After a lazy morning, we headed to Carkeek Park with our baby friends from Centering for a BBQ. We had fun lounging around in the beautiful weather. For babies, that meant a combination of nursing, napping, and playing on the blanket together. I shared my toys with my babyfriends. Turns out that they like to mouth Sophie too! For some reason, when it was time for the baby photoshoot, I got a little overwhelmed -- it's a good thing Momma is a quick shot with the camera because for most of the pics, you can't tell this was the case.
After a day of fun in the sun, we went home to feed Kobe (and give him a little medication to help him stay calm during the fireworks). I promptly fell asleep in the car and Momma and Dad decided to go to Capitol Hill to view the fireworks. They parked on Broadway and walked down Roy to the Lakeview overpass. They spread their blankets and had fun watching the show over Lake Union and I... slept through it quite easily! Momma couldn't believe it so she kept trying to peek at me. She did this so much that I ended up waking up with five minutes to go. That's okay, though, because I was fascinated by them (and they weren't too loud from our vantage point, which Momma thinks is good). I definitely went to bed late but it was worth it! Maybe I'll see more fireworks next year. :)

Oh yeah, and one bonus picture from this morning. A little blurry, but here I am trying out a new kind of freedom.... That's what they tell me this holiday is all about - freedom - right?
