Beach Day with G'ma, FIRST TOOTH SIGHTING, and Dinner w U. JJ & A.Rebecca

Watch out - this is another post chock full o' photos, because Momma can't get enough of how cute I am at the beach!  Despite what the photo to the left seems to suggest, I actually love it there.  No... what that photo is placed here to demonstrate is my newest accomplishment of the day - MY FIRST TOOTH coming through.  See it there, right in front, on the lefthand side? That little poke of hard white tooth sticking through?  Ahh!  I guess I'm going to get my two front teeth before Christmas.  Momma says, "BOO!"  Too many milestones in the last week or so!  I don't seem to mind, contrary to what that picture shows.  I was a little fussy/clingy to Momma this morning, and my sleep has as disturbed as it usually is lately (I've gone back and forth this whole trip between having nights of long stretches and nights with frequent wake-ups)... but who knows if that's attributed to teething.  The drool, however... even more of it than you thought I had before... now, THAT makes this teething business make sense!

The day was fun despite this new development.  Gamma, Mommy and I went to Sand Hill Cove to enjoy the perfect beach day that it was - not too hot, nice breeze, lots of sun. Here's our set-up.  I was napping for a bit when we first got there since I fell asleep in the car.  "Phew," said Momma, because I'm not a fan of falling back asleep once at the beach.

I had fun playing on the blanket and practicing my SITTING.  I can do this for so long on my own now... what a big boy!

Gamma spent a lot of time with me at the shore.  I was fascinated by watching the little waves come in.  We tried to put my feet in the water but it is still too cold for me.

I actually got a little chilly because there was such a nice little breeze... and my hat fell in the ocean... so it was time for a change.

Now Momma and I had matching gray stripes on.  Of course, that warranted some photo ops.

Yay! What a fun beach day!  After I had a long nap on the car ride home and in the driveway of G&G's house (Momma and Gamma took turns alternating who sat with me and who got changed), I met up with Uncle Jay Jay & Auntie Rebecca to try this new Treehouse Bistro restaurant.  I had fun playing with them at the table!

I was a tired baby afterwards and slept GREAT that night! (6.5 hour stretch to start with!)

Sick Momma :( And - Introducing... Sweet Potatoes!

Today was a pretty sad day for Momma because she had been up all night and was still sick today.  I spent a lot of time playing with Gamma.  We had fun taking a walk with brother Kobe and chatting with Momma when she woke up.  Momma mostly stayed in bed while we were off galavanting around, but I took breaks to nap or nurse with her.  It turns out that Momma was supposed to do exactly what she did and keep nursing me even though she was sick, since her body makes antibodies that go into my milk which help me fight off the sickness.  It seemed to work as I am healthy as a clam!

Luckily, Momma started to feel better by the late afternoon so we spent some time on the deck.  Daddy Facetimed in from Russia and I had my first meal of sweet potatoes.  We tried it with me holding my spoon, with me fingering the mashed up stuff in the bowl and on my tray, with softened sweet potato sticks, and with my teething ring as an eating utensil.  I had so much fun playing with my food... it was so intriguing and I was entertained for a long time.  It was so messy and so fun! But when it came to actually tasting what went in my mouth, well... you can see what I thought about that.

Uh.... what just went in my mouth?

Seriously, guys.  What. Is. This.?

Look how messy!

Where did that orange toy go?

My teether sure does taste funny...

Not as bad of a reaction as the original day of avocados, but I'm still not a fan of anything other than Momma's milk so far.  I did actually eat a couple spoonfuls, though... because it did have the effect it was supposed to have on my digestive system, resulting in my first smelly, more solid-like poo.  (Don't worry, Momma didn't take a picture of it this time.  She was working too hard not to be sick since her stomach was still a bit queasy.)  :)

Oh, and one shot from bedtime.  Please call me Mr. Independent from now on.... I did not want to let Momma hold my bottle!

Beach Day with "Auntie" Shiri, Gaby & Mia!

Today was a pretty special day, since "Auntie" Shiri and my bffs, Gaby & Mia, drove down from NH to visit Mommy and I.  It was girls & babies' day at the beach since our daddies were out of town.  We all piled into Auntie Shiri's big truck and headed down south.  First stop:  Aunt Carrie's for the requisite clam cakes & chowdah.  Next, we headed to Sand Hill Cove beach because it's a bit more family friendly than the Narragansett town beach.

I nursed a bit but was mostly interested in sitting and watching the girls play in the sand and water.  I didn't want to nap at all and I wasn't even cranky due to the missed nap.  I was a super happy baby the whole time!

The girls having fun playing in the sand with the new toys Momma bought for them/me as I get older. :)

The girls prefer to pose in photos.  Momma <3s this!

Mia loved me!  She thought it was so cool that I reached for her and liked her too!

They <3'd me!

It was a good thing I was so happy all day because Momma was starting to feel sick and didn't have an incredible amount of energy.  We stopped at Newport Creamery on the way home so the girls could get ice cream and Momma ended up getting sick.  :( Poor Momma!  When we got home, Gamma took good care of me and Momma... and soon, Gampa too.  It was a rough night, but we're glad we got to have a fun beach day anyway!

U. JJ, Meeting "Rabbitt" and Visiting GG&G!

Today, Uncle Jay Jay came over before my morning nap and got a crash course in baby care.  I thought it was pretty sweet and entertaining, as did Mom, Gamma, and Auntie Rebecca (who was fresh off the plane from Italy and excited to see how big I had gotten! I was so happy to see her, even if I was ready for a big nap and got a little cranky-pants towards the end of their quick visit). Observe:

In the afternoon, I met a special family friend, the "Rabbit," Russ.  We have the same last name but aren't related (hence "rabbit") - how funny. He came over for a Sunday dinner at lunchtime (because that's how Gamma and Gampa do things around here) and stayed to watch the Red Sox game while I napped.

After he left, we visited Great Grams and Gramps and I
enjoyed sitting with them.

It was a fun day!
