I had fun playing mini golf with Daddy, Uncle Jay Jay, Mommy and Gamma at Mulligan's Island. It was a close contest, but Uncle Jay Jay won by one stroke over Daddy. Daddy alternated between calling me his lucky charm and saying he needed a handicap because of the extra weight he was carrying. I thought it was fun for the most part (albeit a little hot) but I eventually got bored and napped on Daddy's chest. U. Jay Jay was pretty excited, seeing as he got the only hole-in-one of the game (although Momma says she was robbed on several occasions). Here are some pics from the adventure:
Then it was time for me to have my first real bout of "Gamma Camp" while Momma and Daddy went off to Fenway to see the Red Sox game. I was originally going to go, but they decided I would have more fun with Gamma and Gampa. I did dress for the occasion, though.
There aren't any pictures from Gamma camp because we were having too much fun (and Momma wasn't there). Gamma did keep a detailed record of all the diapers she changed, bottles she gave, and what time I napped and slept. It was the longest stretch of time I've ever been away from M&D (9 hours) and I did great. Surprisingly, so did Momma. That's probably because she and Daddy were off having this great adventure:
They made it to Yawkee Way in time for the gates to open 90 minutes before game time, with no traffic, and after having found free street parking. Oh, and the rain that was coming down everywhere else left them alone for the whole night!
Here are their amazing seats! Loge Box 136, Row EE. They got them for just under face value, so a pretty good deal!
Daddy's first trip to Fenway! He's finally here!
Walking around the ballpark... Daddy is impressed. He really gets the early 1900's ballpark feel. Here they are posing with old logos.
Slumming it in the bleachers pre-game to check out the view.
Now, the Mariners were leading for the whole game.... so the most exciting thing was singing Sweet Caroline in the 8th inning. In the 9th inning, the Red Sox were down 7-2. Many people had left Fenway, having given up on the team. Momma and Daddy stayed - this was their only visit to Fenway this summer and I was safely asleep with Gamma, and of course, Momma is part of the "Fenway Faithful." She believed in magic. And then the Sox started putting men on base. Would Papi save the day? (Check out the great view they had of the batters!)
No, but the rest of the Sox started hitting and scoring! Suddenly, it was 7-7! Momma and the rest of the Fenway Faithful were ecstatic - jumping up and down and screaming their heads off. And here, friends and family members, is how Daddy was reacting:
Yeah, that's right. It turns out that a wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf. Daddy is a MARINERS fan. Boooo.... hisssssss. He was watching this amazing comeback and was getting increasingly GRUMPY. It's okay, though, Momma says she promises to raise me right. I am clearly a Red Sox fan first and foremost. I mean, did you not see that adorable photo of me in the Sox jersey from the photoshoot?
Final moments. Bases loaded, Nava up. Can he do it?
Yes, he can!
Wooo!! Here's a happy Momma and a pretending-to-be-happy Daddy. Someone better take away his Fenway privileges!
One last pose with Wally. I can't wait to meet him when I go to Fenway some day.
